block party.

My kids had been counting down the days until our 4th of July block party.
It's one of their favorite days... for two reasons.
#1  We block the street off and they can ride their bikes in the middle of the street. Lawson loves it.
#2   Bonzai Falls (thanks Russ and Jenn!)

London wasn't a big fan of the Bonzai, but she sure is cute!

The kids spent hours in the pool and on the Bonzai...

Sidewalk chalk paint...

Our street was crazy colorful!

Sweet dirty feet...

Firecracker walk...

Water balloon toss...

So much yummy food...

Awesome fireworks... (which I didn't get any pictures of because I was busy wrestling with a super tired, squirmy baby.)

Great conversation... sitting in chairs in the middle of the street. Kids have all gone to bed and the adults stay up late, talking and sharing funny stories. And then end the night with an adults only midnight water balloon fight. (which was pretty tame this year. Maybe we're getting old?? Or maybe it's because Corey and Russ had already gone to bed?? )

Such a good time.
Such fun neighbors.
Such a great tradition.

(You can see more pictures at Megan's or Miss Amy's or Jenn's)
