it's fall!

Hello Fall!!

sweet little feet.

I was a little obsessed with sweet baby feet this weekend...

And this little miss was obsessed with her daddy...

She would cry every time he would walk out of the room or if he would walk past her without holding her. (She was just sad this weekend. Not her smiley, happy self. I think it's tooth #6 and #7.)

There's nothing quite as sweet as a Daddy and his little girl.

more soccer.

I'm loving this soccer mom stuff...

treehouse.

It doesn't happen everyday, but oh, how I love the times that these two play together like this...

Daddy helped them a little, but they did most of this by themselves...

We didn't bother to point out that she spelled "Peace" wrong.  :)

things that made me smile this week.

**  On Monday, 3 people commented on how much Gretchen looks like me. One woman at gymnastics looked out in the gym and said "That blonde in the black leotard must be yours, too." She said she was just thinking about how much Gretchen looked like me, then looked in the gym and saw another one.   :)

**  Two different subs at school commenting on how calm and under control my class is. One of them kept talking about my tone of voice and how kind I sounded.   :)

**  Teaching 1st graders about ladybugs. And then showing them the ladybug house with real, alive, ladybug larvae!

**  Bags of M&M's that show up on my desk.  :)

**  A grandpa who will spend 2 hours driving to watch a 30 minute soccer practice.

**  Perfect weather for an impromptu family night at the park.

**  Talking with my mom about outfits for our family pictures coming up. I said something about not wanting us to all wear black. My mom just laughed and said, "Everyone in black? That is definitely not you."   (I do love color.)   :)

**  Supper and hanging out with my favorite sister-in-law and brother-in-law. And hot fudge on ice cream.

**  Picking Gretchen up from the church nursery today... one of the workers looked at me and said, "Your daughter is so. stinkin. precious!" (She really is... but it's nice when other people see it, too.)  :)

**  Paying $10 for a $100 item. 20% off coupon + $75 worth of gift cards from Discover points.  Awesome.

**  Spending $20 at Gap... paying with a $25 gift card... getting $5 cash back. Always nice to leave a store with a purchase + cash you didn't come in with.  :)

**  Target with a friend. Enough said.

**  A new red purse. Clinique Bonus. (It was a good shopping trip today.)

**  Surprising my hubby with his favorite ice cream. Just because.

**  Hearing that Lawson's best friend thinks he sounds like Corey sometimes when he talks. (Pretty sure I've never met a 5 year old with a voice quite that deep.)

Sophie's bedroom windows face the east. In the mornings, the sun comes streaming in through the windows. Perfect on school days when she needs to get up early, but annoying on the weekends when we want her to sleep a little later. She had some of the roll down blinds, but they were a mess and didn't roll anymore. I had ideas for heavier, darker curtains... something to block the sun... but just hadn't gotten it done. So Grandma bought her some new white ones.

But Sophie's like her momma... we aren't crazy about plain white... we like a little color... we like a little fun.

So Momma got out the Sharpies... and let my girl go to work...

We gave Lawson part of the old ones and let him decorate those. He was nice, and let Mommy help...

I'm not sure where she even learned about peace signs, but they're one of her favorite things now.

Mommy had visions of a happy little outdoor scene... sunshine, trees, flowers, grass...
But these aren't Mommy's windows. (I kept reminding myself of that.)

Are there classier things we could have done? Absolutely.
But would she love those as much as she loves these? I doubt it.

The other window blind is just white right now. She's still deciding how she wants to decorate it.  :)

soccer.

We won't talk about the final score.
It was just their first game, after all.
He had lots of fun.
And this is way more exercise than t-ball.

after nap.

Love this time of day...

(peeking through the crack at the door hinge)

Love that sleepy little face...

So in love with this little miss.
