carnival.

The ferris wheel goes much faster than what I remembered.

These really went pretty high and fast... Sophie loved it!

fourth of july.

We truly have the best neighborhood.
Our annual 4th of July block party was better than ever.

Sophie and Lawson finally got brave enough to try out the Bonzai!

We had a few tears and lots of nerves, but once they figured things out, they loved it!

Craig got tired of just watching the kids have fun.

But it was all too much for Baby London.
She fell asleep right in the middle of it all. So sweet.

Sidewalk paint.

Corn shucking contest.

Water balloon toss.

I love this... Tim has no idea what has just happened to him.

Frozen t-shirt contest.

Adults turn. Carlos went crazy!

I think it was because of the prize. :)

Chris and Rita... they live on the opposite side of the block, directly behind us.
But their neighborhood is no fun. They like ours better. :)
And we like them because Chris talks about funny things like Viagra-melon.

This is what happens when you leave daddies unattended with cameras.
Poor London.

Look at her and Sophie in their matching dresses.
Much cuter.

We love having the street blocked off! We decided we should use Carlos' big pile of bricks to build a wall.

We had a crazy amount of fireworks. Big ones.
It took all of us with brooms and shovels to clean up the street afterwards.
We filled 2 trash dumpsters.

How lucky am I to have these girls as neighbors?

We ended the day with our adults only midnight water balloon fight.
Always a blast.
And a campfire in the middle of the street... until 1:30 am.

So much fun.
So many great memories.

harvest.

We drove back to Uncle Casey's farm Tuesday evening.

Look how cute this little man is in the back seat.
Sophie slept the whole way (and then was really crabby for awhile after we got there!)

Lawson's first ride in the combine.

Sophie waiting for her turn.

Still waiting...

There she goes!

And Lawson had so much fun, he wanted to go again. And he didn't want to wait for Daddy or Uncle Casey to carry him up there. I'm sitting in the back of the truck, taking pictures, and asking my mother-in-law, "Do they realize he's up there?"

They were having lots of fun playing in the wheat truck... until they notice the hundreds of bugs, grasshoppers and caterpillar things in there.

This guy was in his element. (not here with Baby London... he's great in this element, too, but the picture is just for his shirt)
Do you see what it says?

"Born to Farm"

lawson.

As we were driving to Jessi's this morning, we made our routine phone call to Daddy.
Sophie chats with Daddy for a minute... "I love you, Daddy!" and hands the phone to Lawson.
The first thing out of his mouth...

"Mommy and Sophie are making me crazy."

krispy kreme.

Last week the kids and I went to visit some friends who were in town.
Kate and I used to teach together.
They moved right before Miss Riley was born.
Luckily, Riley's grandparents live nearby, so we still get to see them occasionally.

We ate lunch at Wendy's and then for fun...
we stopped here for dessert.

That "waterfall" of glaze... imagine how healthy.

Do you see how much of this little man is covered in frosting?
I literally had to wipe him off from head to toe.

They were so good.
So fun.
We had such a happy time together.

(which was good, because our morning at home together hadn't been so good.)

projects.

I crossed 2 projects off my Summer To-Do-List last night:

1. We took our house numbers down last year when we painted the front of the house and they never made it back up. One of our firemen wrote an article for the paper awhile back about how important it is to have your house numbers visible from the street. Oops. We always planned to order one of the fancy custom made ones from Home Depot or Lowes and just never got around to it. From a distance... this looks pretty close.

$2 at Hobby Lobby. $3 at Wal-Mart.
(and silver spray paint borrowed from Amy D.)

We can now feel secure that firemen can find us.
We'll just hope they never need to.

2. I finally got around to ordering my Sticky Graffiti that I found on Etsy and knew I had to have! It took 5 minutes to apply and I absolutely love it!

Check out their website! I will definitely be ordering more!
