train ride.

Lots of pictures and few words.
It's been a crazy busy week with lots to do this weekend.
And I am crazy behind on blogging.

But awhile back our church went on a train ride. It's an old restored train engine that goes on a little trip to the tiny town where I teach. The kids thought it was pretty great.

pumpkin carving.

Gretchie was more interested in the peanut butter donuts Daddy brought home that day. She's a smart little thing.

No pictures of the finished products. Lame.
Not the pumpkins... just me. The pumpkins were awesome. (as awesome as can be when they are done by a 7 and a 10 year old.) =)

1st grade halloween.

These are the little people I spend my days with now...

Everyone dresses up and we do a parade downtown and then visit a local nursing home. I dressed as a vet... scrub top, jeans, stethoscope and a stuffed dog. (It was pretty much just an excuse to wear jeans on a Wednesday.)

Our 5th grade teacher... her costume was "Teenage Drama." She had a bag of M&M's in her robe pocket and later taped a broken heart to her chest. I think the mascara streaks down her face were my favorite part, though. =)

Do you see that cute little cowgirl? =)

Our principal (Snow White) and all the paras (dwarves and Wicked Queen). Plus a little troll on the floor. =)

Full moon earlier this week.
Halloween on Wednesday.
A birthday party Thursday.
Another birthday party on Friday.
School family fun night on Saturday.

It's been a long and crazy week. Tuesday felt like it should have been Friday.
Looking forward to a relaxing weekend, but I know that's not really going to happen.
So I'll hope for a fun and productive weekend.
Really looking forward to sleeping late tomorrow!
(I wrote this on Friday. Little feet came pattering into our room at 8:45. Thank you, God, for late sleeping kids!!)

happy halloween.

We joined our favorite neighbors on a little trick-or-treating this year. Trick-or-treating is harder when you don't know many people in town. (and most of the people we do know would be out trick-or-treating with their own kids!) We've never been fans of just taking our kids door to door. We like to visit houses of people know. (This neighbor actually used to babysit for my sister and I!)

It was fun to go see Grandpa this year! (And apparently he camps outside in this chair, with his face covered up and sometimes sits perfectly still to make people wonder if he's real or not. Who knew?!)

Then we went to see Grandma at our church's Fall Fanfare. It's basically a big carnival with tons of candy and prizes. The kids came home with buckets packed full of candy! (Which we are trying to keep up high to prevent a certain dog from eating it all!)
