at grandma & grandpa's.

We took the kids to the school playground near Grandma and Grandpa's for a little t-ball practice. They both got in a few hits...

but they were both much more interested in this...

so we played t-ball with these kids for awhile.

Then Grandma decided to play...

It's impossible to field a ball without lots of screaming and shrieking.

Or at least it's impossible for my kids.

it's 2:05.

These kids are making me crazy.
Seriously.
10 more days of school.
10 very crazy days.

i love this.

My aunt just sent me this.
It made me laugh out loud.

The best sign seen in a grocery store:

t-ball

Sophie is playing T-Ball this summer.
We had our first practice tonight.
Corey signed us up to coach.

I don't think he knew quite what he was getting himself into...
This is easy enough...

It's the other 13 little people that he wasn't quite sure what to do with.

So thankful for the other willing parents that jumped in to help.
I told one dad, "I hope you'll be here every week."
We really have no idea what we are doing.

He's quickly learning about the attention span of 5 and 6 year olds.

And look at this sad little man.
"Nobody's playing with me."

My favorite quote from the drive home...
We were talking about all the parents that stepped in to help:
"They're gonna have to. There's no way one person could handle 13 kids alone."

Hmmm... try 20 kids. All alone. For 6 hours.
"Oh, yeah."

grandma & grandpa.

Lawson was in desperate need of some Grandma and Grandpa time. He had been asking me, almost daily, "Are Grandma and Grandpa coming today?"

Thursday, they both had the day off.
And not only did they come... they brought him bubbles.
His favorite thing.

It was a perfect evening to be outside!

At one point, we heard this excited yelling coming from the garage... "Mommy! Mommy! I did it! I can ride my big boy bike!" He was so excited. He had tried a couple times since his birthday and hadn't been able to get the hang of the bigger pedals. All on his own, in the back of the garage, he suddenly figured it out.

Thanks for coming to visit! We can't wait to see you again!
And now we've heard that Grandma Jones has baby kittens.
Guess what I'm getting asked daily now. :)

blurb.com

I was so excited yesterday to come home and find this...

Corey had been home all day and hadn't even opened the box. He saved it for me!
I absolutely love it! It turned out even better than I had hoped it would!

The pictures are so clear and crisp and colorful. Great quality!

This was so worth all the hours it took me to design it. Absolutely worth every penny. Corey and I have both already looked through it a couple times and I got to show it to some friends at a Girl's Night last night. (Thank you, Jana, for your giddy reaction! I knew I could count on you!)

I am thrilled with the results and I know we will treasure it!
So happy!

funny story.

So this wasn't even one of my students... but the story was just too funny. I want to remember it.

2nd grader: My daddy had to stay home from work today.

Teacher: Why?

2nd grader: Because he got flashed.

Teacher: What?!

2nd grader: He got flashed.

Teacher: (wondering if this is some kind of sexual harrassment ordeal)
What does your daddy do?

2nd grader: He's a welder.
