before/after.

This is the farm. Corey's grandpa lived here for years and it's always been his dream to build here.
His cows are here (2 babies born last week!) so he makes pretty frequent trips out here.
And even though his drive is a whole lot shorter now... he's getting pretty anxious to move out here.

As of two weeks ago... we're a little bit closer!

Corey's planning a really big bonfire sometime soon. (One of the famers nearby insists that he can get snow to burn...)

There are two trees left. Sad. We're hoping they won't be in the way once construction begins.
That's one of the things I'll miss the most about our old house... all the BIG pretty trees.

We have a floor plan, an architect and a builder... we're just waiting on a few more things to fall into place. (And for the weather to cooperate.) There's still a chance we could be here by summer, but I'm telling myself it's going to be fall. Probably August or September... perfect timing for a teacher, right?!

sledding.

My dad's vet clinic/pasture + some of our favorite friends + a sled, a rope and a jeep = SO. MUCH. FUN.

We really should have tried these out, Meagan. You could have just sat behind the jeep and held on to the rope.

{high fives as they went by}

Even the mommies got a turn! And yes... it's just as much fun now as it was when I was growing up.

But I'm a lot slower getting up after a wipe out...

I'm pretty sure I was crying after this wipeout of Meagan's. The slow motion... head first... right into the snow. Oh my goodness, we laughed so hard.

Pretty sure this is my favorite winter memory so far this year.

fizziness.

Because I know there are other mommas out there... desperate for some snow day entertainment...

{cheap baking soda... I think these were 23¢ each}

 {vinegar with food coloring and droppers/syringes}

It eventually turned into this... which was messier, but still okay.

Not much mess to clean up and it bought me over an hour of quiet.
Which is priceless on these cold snowy days.
Thank you, Pinterest! =)
