happy easter.

"Then bursting forth, in glorious day...
up from the grave He rose again!"

eggs.

We did decorate Easter eggs this year. It wasn't especially fun. I dyed eggs with my first graders for the first time ever this year and it was so fun! Somehow decorating and dyeing eggs with 20 kids was more enjoyable than doing it with my 2. There may have been drama and time outs for one of our children during our happy time at home dyeing eggs. Always a good time.

Gretchie was more interested in chewing on the eggs. (She'll chew on anything, really. There have got to be some teeth coming soon!)

Some bunny is ready for Easter!  :)

things they say.

"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! I need to get a Kleenex! There is a real, alive, poison bug on the trampoline and I don't want to step on it!!" (Lawson)

Gretchen had a tiny scratch on the bottom of her foot. (We have no idea where it came from)  Jessi (daycare) asked Lawson what happened. He told her that Daddy dropped a knife on Gretchen. But it was okay, because it was just an accident.

"Your heart is like a donut. It has an empty spot in the middle of it. But if you ask Him, Jesus will come live in your heart and fill up the empty spot."  (Um... wow!)  (Lawson)

"Wouldn't it be funny if Gretchen swallowed a tadpole?? Then in like 3 weeks, she would have a frog in her tummy!! And then... when she burped... a frog would jump out!!" (Sophie, Lawson and Gracie)

During his last haircut, Miss Amy told Lawson when he turned 5 he couldn't act goofy anymore. His reply, "Okay... I'll just horse around then!"

fishing.

swim party.

So much fun! Lawson had a ball. Kids were perfect. Gretchen was perfect. Gifts were perfect. Cookies... party favors... everything. It was a perfect 5 year old birthday party.
