thank you.

To the person who just came in my room and said, "Are you going to be ready for Meet the Teacher night tonight? Or do you just not care?"

Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Your encouragement is overwhelming.

I am a mom and a school board president in another state--- and just want to THANK ALL THE TEACHERS who are working on all cylinders (and often, using their own money) to get classrooms, libraries and other areas ready for my kids---and everyone else's. While I like an organized classroom and nice bulletin boards, how you interact with my children is what is the most important...and I think you CLEARLY have that all together!

Have a great year. I love reading about it!!

There is one in every crowd. Just ignore them.
Your students are lucky. It is about more than the room.

I have never commented before, but I read your blog all of the time. As a former teacher, I just have to say how inconsiderate that person was. (Which I am sure you already know...) Please do not let it get to you though!! Although I do not know you, I feel like I do through your blog. You seem like a great teacher, mommy & wife. It is hard to get everything together at school while being there for your own children. I am sure the parents who come into your room tonight will know that the most important thing you can do is just be there for their child. Hope you have a great night & I hope you have a smooth start to your year!

Obviously this was someone who doesn't know you very well b/c you would be the last person to "not care." Hang in there. It's such a crazy time of year. You'll get into the swing of things. You are an awesome teacher and I would give anything for my kids to have you. Have a great year.
