rockets.

We have awesome friends. Awesome friends who do amazing things like build and launch their own rockets! Really cool rockets!

Lawson has been hearing stories about these rockets and has been asking if he and Daddy could build one sometime. So on Sunday, Eli came over with a brand new kit just for Lawson! (Eli has been building rockets with his daddy for quite a few years. He knows what he's doing.)

He was pretty proud of his bright orange rocket!

So Monday morning, we started out our 4th of July celebration by shooting off rockets! (Mitch is the rocket builder extraordinaire!)

Gretchen was all prepared with her hat, purse, phone and a baby. Just what every 1 year old needs at a rocket launch.

Jobe's face makes me laugh here. This is what we all felt like towards the end. Someone said that rocket launching is 95% fellowship. There was a little bit of downtime. =)

Lawson was pretty excited that Ezra was going to be there, too!

Lawson finally got brave enough to walk out and do his rocket. (I think there were a few more people there than he expected. )

Pushing the button...

It went pretty high! I lost it in the clouds shortly after this...

After the recovery...

This crew was pretty good at recovering all the rockets...

Mitch and his brothers have a lot of fun with this...

These two didn't have a rocket, but Mitch was still nice enough to let them push the button...

Thanks, Boese Family for including us in your fun tradition!! We had a BLAST!!

Yes. Thank you Boese's. It was a blast! And Amy, I LOVE the pic of Ezzie with his hand on Lawson's head. Too cute. Oh, and the one of Jobie is funny!

I love this post and ALL the pics! Thanks for joining us. It's so much more fun for the rocketeer's widow to have her friends there too :)

Oh, and by the way, Mitch is going to be so impressed with this post. I'm not sure I'll ever measure up now.
