hurk.

I read a few poems to my first graders every day as part of our calendar time.
We started with a couple Jack Prelutsky books.
Now we're reading Shel Silverstein.
Our poem today made me smile...

   Hurk

I'd rather play tennis than go to the dentist.
I'd rather play soccer than go to the doctor.
I'd rather play Hurk than go to work.
      Hurk? Hurk? What's Hurk?
I don't know, but it MUST be better than work.

It made me smile, because I can relate right now.
I'm not loving work right now.
Not the kids, so much.
Just work.
Having to get up early, dress nice, leave the house.
I'm not loving that.
Christmas break was so nice.
Sleeping late... staying in sweats or flannel pants all day... no makeup... daily ponytails...
Those things make me happy.
Work does not make me happy right now.
It makes me exhausted.
I don't like exhausted.

Amy, I'm @ work right now not wanting to be @ work and found your blog as I'm avoiding work. . .You get the picture.

I just started blogging and haven't made it known to the world yet. It's such a good release for me. And I'm an organizer/list maker, too. Sooooo, I've truly enjoyed reading your blog this morning. Got to "hurk" and knew it was time to leave a comment! Lol! Gotta go, I have more reading on your blog to do! ;)
