school.

I don't remember the Christmas craziness hitting my class so early in previous years. Oh my word, these kids are off the wall. I was actually grateful that Lawson was throwing up in the middle of the night so that I had a good excuse to leave at noon. (Corey and I split the day.)

But... there have been some random moments that made me smile lately...

** One of my kiddos was wearing a t-shirt yesterday that said:
Dear Santa,
Please don't talk to my teacher.

It was very appropriate.  :)

** Hollered across the room during indoor recess the other day:
"Mrs. Jones! Mrs. Jones! There's a spider!!  (total panic in her voice)
Oh, wait... nevermind... I killed it."  (completely nonchalant and calm... 3 seconds later)

** I was introducing a non-fiction book about an octopus to one of my reading groups the other day. We were doing the whole "prior knowledge/what do you know about about octopuses? (is that a word? Octopuses?)" Had to tell one of my kiddos that his prior knowledge learned from watching the Sy-Fy movie "Sharktopus" wasn't really all that accurate and/or helpful.

** Thank you "parents-who-send-a-full-bottle-of-Dr.-Pepper-with-your-child-in-their-lunchbox." That's just what they need at 11:40 in the morning.
