pearl harbor {day 4}.

Anchor from the USS Arizona... 19,000 pounds!

The ferry boat we took to the Arizona Memorial...

The remains of over 900 Arizona crewmen rest beneath the water in the sunken battleship. Many Arizona survivors have been cremated and rejoined their shipmates underwater.

We were amazed at the oil leaks that would surface while we were there -- 74 years later.

There were 1.2 million gallons of oil on the Arizona. The explosion after the bombing ignited must of it -- it burned for 3 days. The rest has been slowly leaking for years.

In Memory...

USS Missouri Battleship... Japan formally surrendered on board the Missouri in Sept. 1945.

Each link on the anchor weighs 100 lbs.
