happy place.

I have found a new happy place. Just walking in and looking around makes me smile. I don't love the name of the store ("On the Pot")... but everything else about it makes me happy. =)

Meagan had brought me here once before and I had made a super cute red and white polka dot utensil crock for our new kitchen. Maren and Magda have been here lots of times, Sophie was here once for Maren's birthday, but this was Lawson's first time.

You choose want you want to paint from the shelves and shelves of choices... then choose your paint colors and go to town.

I chose a cute little soap pump for our main floor bathroom...

Sophie's cute plate... (you can see the stamp she used for the crown in the picture above, and the little spouncer {love that word!} she used for the the polka dots.

I used a stamp for my flowers and then used one of the writers (the little squeeze bottle) for filling them in...

Lawson's little purple penguin (he named it Ceclor, in honor of YOU, Aunt Kristin!) =)

I can't seem to remember to take pictures of the finished objects, so just imagine the plate, penguin and soap pump all shiny and bright now! Lawson's penguin is a bright K-State purple and mine is a bright lime green. There is a big difference between the unfired and fired pieces.

Meagan and I were so curious... do you suppose these letters are acronyms for something?? (These are finished projects, waiting to be picked up...)

Some of the samples in the store windows...

They have some SUPER CUTE teacher ones! (Meagan made a container for her husband the first time we were there. She had all his students secretly do yellow thumbprints, then she painted them all into little Despicable Me minions (it was their class theme). It turned out awesome!!

I LOVE that daisy bowl on the left. It might be my next project. =)

It was a perfect morning spent with friends! Even if it did include having to rush Magda past the dead pigeon...

While Lawson tried to shield her from having to look at it.  =)

Lunch at a sweet little cupcake bakery...

Thin Mint cupcake...

Cherry Limeade cupcake...

And, finally... the creepiest store mannequin ever...
