right now, it's enough.

On our last Mommy/Lawson day, this is what we did in the first 30 minutes...

Every "Mommy day" we've had, this is what Lawson chooses first: games, puzzles, books. Each of these games or puzzles probably took 10 minutes. Each book we read takes less that 5. Nothing amazing. Nothing expensive. Nothing difficult.
Just me.
And my time.
And my attention.

A friend of mine posted on her blog awhile back how right now, all it takes to make her kids happy is for her to be on the floor with them. A book. A game. A puzzle. Or just talking. Just having her down there, with them, makes them happy.
So simple. So easy. But so hard for me to do most days.
But I am willing myself to remember this, because, like Courtney said, someday it wont' be this simple. Someday, just having me sit with them won't be enough to make them happy.

But right now, it's enough.
And since it does make them so happy, I'm trying to spend more time sitting on the floor... just being with them.

(Even though getting on and off the floor is getting increasingly harder...)

bee park.

There is a cute little church playground a few blocks away from us.
Lawson calls it "the bee park."

He asks to go there anytime we drive by, so this day we may a spontaneous stop to play for awhile.

It was super hot and we had no sunscreen or water, so we didn't stay long.
Do you see those red cheeks on my little man? (and the attitude from my little girl?)

This was a hug... turned headlock. He loves her.

funny.

This just makes me laugh...

98 days.

My little baby counter has dropped to double digits.
Exciting, but hard to believe it has gone so fast!
I'm sure the next 98 days are going to go even faster!
Baby Girl Jones will be here before we know it!
(still lots to do to be ready, too!)

smores.

Thanks, Beki, for the idea of using peanut butter cups!

fourth of july.

The 100* weather was just too much for all of us, so we decided to postpone our annual 4th of July block party until the fall. So we finally got to spend all day at the other 4th of July party we're always invited to! (This one includes a pool!)

Dianna was very popular once she brought out the water balloons!

How much do you love Brookelyn's chubby cheeks?!

The kids and dads from our party had fun with their fireworks, then the neighbors pulled out all of theirs. Wow! Pretty sure our little cul-de-sac was right up there with the city display!

So much fun!

11 years.

Happy Anniversary to my favorite guy!
I love you... whole bunches.
(Even if fighting has become our "anniversary tradition.")
