That title is just unbelievable to me. Really.
In the 12 years I've been teaching here, we've only had 2 other snow days.
Those were in 2005 when we had the horrible ice storm and half the town was without power.
But we're sure enjoying these days!
Gretchen loves to plop herself in Sophie's bean bag. It's been around forever, but since Sophie dragged it downstairs last week, Gretchie has been loving it. (She's in it right now with a doll, her purse and 2 blankets.)
Sophie created a store in the toy room...
Miss Witzy (her special blanket) cost $1000, which I thought was a little steep... even with pretend money. So I bought the little cat. He was only $4.
Gretchie loved him...
Lawson made a restaurant in the breakfast nook. We had name cards, lots of silverware and fancy glasses. All you drink at this restaurant is Cherry 7up. And you eat dessert first. It's a pretty classy place.
Here was the menu...
I told myself I would be really productive today... but I wasn't really.
I did bake cookies. (When the kids were outside playing... I wasn't feeling up to helpers.)
I blogged a little... washed a bunch of dishes... watched some things on the DVR... and did a lot of snuggling with a super cute baby.
We all spent a few hours with Corey when he got off work... then he headed back out into this mess. He'll probably be gone all night... helping clear streets and parking lots. Gotta love that guy.
I want to eat at Lawson's restaurant, that is EXACTLY my kind of place, life is too short to have it any other way.
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so creative (I wonder where they get that from?) and your baby is just soooo cute!!! Look at all that snow!! How fun for you to have another snow day.
ReplyDeleteAmy, this is such a happy blog post. I love it!!
ReplyDeleteJust had some Cherry 7UP tonight. Mmmm, good. I'll come to Lawson's Restaurant!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of snow! I just saw on the news that since December 1st we've had 42" of snow up here in Michigan, our average at this time is 24"...just crazy! I have to say, snuggly babies in footie jammies are just the best thing ever (especially your sweet Gretchie!). I remember playing restaurant when I was little, seeing his menu brought back all those memories of such fun. Enjoy all your snow, although, I have to say, up here, we are sure tired of all the shoveling (and path shoveling for our doggie too!). Spring can't get here fast enough.
ReplyDeleteWow... as far as the snow goes.. I don't envy you a bit! But as far as the quality time w/ your kiddos... I'm jealous! :o)
ReplyDeleteLOVE their creativity and imagination and baby Gretchie is so cute!! (I have a baby cousin named Gretchen and we call her GiGi)
:o)
Let's go to Lawson's restaurant for our double date!
ReplyDeleteI love Gretchen's smile!!! She is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI have a sign in my house that says "Please snow....I'm a teacher". Aren't snow days a surprise blessing?:)
Mrs. B.
What a fun day!
