Equal parts cornstarch and water. Stir, stir, stir. And then add food coloring.
But I was lazy.
I didn't want to get a stool and climb up to get my bright Wilton food coloring gel. So I just used the plain ol' stuff.
Bad idea. The colors just weren't bright enough. Everything was drying white.
Lesson learned. Next time, just use the good stuff the first time. I ended up climbing on my step stool anyway and adding good color in the middle of the driveway.
Cheap and easy summer fun.
Even movie stars enjoy it...
I love the bright colors you use. We've been wanting to do this- but I can't get myself to do this unless we write "Please buy our house" in chalk paint. :)
ReplyDeleteI found this out when I did this last time. I used bright colors for most but a couple with the regular food coloring and there was no comparison. Definately use the good stuff!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea!! So bright and cheery and cheap and easy! Hey, I think I recognize that Hollywood movie star.
ReplyDeleteWondering if this would work on black butcher paper on a bulletin board?
ReplyDeletewe did this last summer and my dad was staying with us. He lets the kids use it on his white car! They had fun but I was nervous! Luckily it washed right off!
