Someone asked me awhile back what I do with all our Christmas card pictures when I take them down from my ribbon board...
I start each year with our Christmas card/letter/picture from that year...
Then follow that with all the pictures of our friends and family...
Very simple. No decorating. The most I do is put cute paper behind some of the pictures and then write with a silver pen. Very basic. But I love it. I love to go back and look through the years and see how much our family has changed and how much the families of those we love have changed. (and it's great for those times, too, when the kids can't quite remember who a certain cousin is!)
But probably what I love most about it is that it is one of the few scrapbooks I can say I am "caught up on." (because all of the rest are years behind!)
But I also love this idea... a mini-scrapbook, dedicated to just one trip or event. I made one from Corey and I's 10 year anniversary trip to Eureka Springs. I loved it so much I decided to make one from our trip to Oklahoma last summer.
It's just an album from Target, designed for two 4x6 pictures to be slid into each page. I altered it a little bit for pages with vertical pictures, but basically just decorated, embellished and slid the pictures in. Fun and easy. (and the kids love to look through it!!) It's only half done, though. But it's on my list of things to do this summer!
Just finished sending in an order of all my school pictures from the last 3 years. I've gotten really behind on my school albums. (But I take less pictures every year, it seems, so they shouldn't take me too long!) I'm wanting to get those done first, so I can cross them off my list. (love crossing things off, you know!) Then hoping to start back in on my Kiddie Park album! I want to have it finished before we go there again this summer!
so cute amy, love looking at your stuff! I love the Christmas card idea - I may have to copy one of these years!

Ok, I convinced you are super mom! Scrapbooking and blogging! What a wonderful idea for CHristmas cards!! I always feel guilty for throwing them away, but my husband (who keeps nothing!) says, what are we going to do with them? NOW I HAVE AN ANSWER!!!
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh, Brittany! I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've ever been called Supermom! I did both of these albums at a weekend scrapbook crop a friend had over Spring Break. Corey took the kids and left. And that was the first time I had scrapbooked in over a year! I want to do it more, but it's so hard to find the time. I do love it, though! :)
