first day.

Our first day pictures turned out fuzzy. Boo.
But there were big smiles all around... (big toothless smiles for some!)

Sophie had a few nerves... but nothing bad like throwing up in the van on the way to school.
She saved that for the second day of school.
Seriously.

ready or not.

I'm feeling pretty ready. For tomorrow, anyway. Maybe not for Thursday, though.

Met some sweet, sweet kids at Meet Your Teacher night tonight. And a few... other ones. =) (I really need to find a little trampoline. We've got some extra energy to burn.)

Thank you for all the SmartBoard ideas! Meg B... I just might be emailing you! Thanks so much for the offer! I did not learn how to turn it on today... but there's still time. =)

Sophie and Lawson are excited about their teachers and classes. Sophie is with her best friend and Lawson is sitting right beside one of his best buddies from pre-school. His best buddy, Ezra, is in my class!!

My happy little to-do-list clipboard for school. The daisies were just perfect for me. I need to get a list on here, though!

Anxious to start getting to know all these new personalities tomorrow. It's going to be a busy day.

Hoping these 3 things will help get me through these next 3 days...

school.

School starts on Wednesday. I'm so not ready.
Meet Your Teacher Night is tomorrow. Not ready for that, either.
Every year I think that I won't be stressed... won't be frazzled... and every year I am.
I don't really love that, but I think that's it's just inevitable.
There is something every year that causes last minute stress. This year it's my schedule.
I'm thinking we'll need more than a 10-15 minute recess each day. Right now there is only 1 built in to my schedule. Which was done for me this year. I'm looking for a little mini-trampoline for my room. For real.

This was my room last week. It looks better than this now, but I still have a lot of work to do tomorrow. Along with minor things like finding time for recess. And planning what we're going to do. And learning how to turn on my SMARTBoard. (and maybe even how to use it!) Just minor things.

I've brought lots of things home to work on the past few days. I've written names on so many things. I have a whole list saved on my computer of things to write names on. There's a lot. But it's an easy way to learn the names of all my kids!

And it gives me an excuse to pull out all my fun Sharpies. Any job is more fun when you get to use colorful Sharpies...

little people.

What is it about Little People?

They're just happy little toys...

Colorful, fun, cute. All my favorite things.

And fun for all ages...

They are one of my favorite toys. Ever.

They just make me smile.

And they always, always, always make me thinking of you, Big Amy.  =)

museum.

I had to agree with the kids... this museum was pretty awesome. I was amazed by some of the scenes they had created... everything was so realistic and the animals were posed with such expression and movement.

The kids failed to mention that the people would actually talk. So it startled me a bit when this man started talking and moving...

Every kind of animal you can imagine...

About 3/4 of the way through, there is a fun learning/play center, complete with a tree house...

The snake came out of the basket as the snake charmer played his music...

A tiny bit freaky to look up and see things like this right above your head, but very, very cool.
