hannah montana.

Sophie has officially been introduced to Hannah Montana.



She went to a Hannah Montana birthday party yesterday and came home with the following:
* a t-shirt
* fluffy boa
* make-up compact (there were middle school girls at the party that put make-up on all the little girls and put sparkles in their hair!)
* a sparkly picture frame (that she decorated with jewels) with a picture of all the party girls
* an inflatable microphone
* a cd of Hannah Montana songs
* a helium balloon


She had a special request to have this outfit washed so that she could wear it to Jessi's tomorrow... and dress like Hannah Montana.


And she now knows the chorus to at least one song.

mr. lee

A few weeks ago, we said good-bye to one of our very best friends... Mr. Lee.

He's over in Iraq now... serving our country by doctoring up soldiers.

The night of his going away party, we told the kids that Mr. Lee would be going on a trip and would be gone for a long time. We said that he wouldn't be back until it was summer... when mommy doesn't have to go to school and gets to stay home all day with them.

On Wednesday (snow day) when Sophie woke up I said, "Guess what?! Mommy doesn't have to go to school today! I get to stay home with you and Lawson all day!" The first thing she said... "Is Mr. Lee home from his trip?"

We all miss you! Our family has made so many fun memories that include you!

This is as far as I got, though. Then the kids were cold and wanted to come in.


He still had all this left to do. (The one downside to our big new driveway.)



Literally 2 minutes after I took that picture I heard something outside.
I stuck my head out and saw this...


The kids loved watching Miss Carol make the snow fly everywhere.

Guess who got her wish?!
Phones started ringing at 5:40 am.
(We have a computerized system this year that can call everyone all at once. Useful for emergencies, lockdowns and snow days! It calls my cell phone, Corey's cell phone and our home phone. Really freaked us out the first time they tested it and every phone in the house started ringing at the exact same time. Now they are staggered a bit.)

The really crazy thing? On Monday it was 63*.
